Pine Creeks, Trees and Bridges

Without much time to plan and a not-so-promising forecast for Saturday (yes, I'm still 2 weeks behind), we decided to take a hike up Pine Creek Pass. For those of you still basking in beautiful weather, how about......some snow? Well, snow and mud, but the mud would disappear once we got into the woods.Despite the falling snow on a Spring day, it was a scenic hike along the rushing river carrying snow melt. With visibility low, there was no point in adventuring to the top of the surrounding hills, so we decided to build a bridge. Why? To get to the other side of course. Keep in mind that the water temperature was in the low 30's, so falling in wasn't too desirable. A little risk makes the adventure all that more exciting ya know! Spying a few rocks where we could lodge some logs......we found some fallen trees......got one placed across the river successfully......and followed by a second. The other end was still under water......so the bridge work continued. The completed bridge......being utilized......by those not known for having good balance.Of course, the irony is that my feet were wet already from tromping through the snow, but at least that wasn't rushing water. We were all smiles until we heard a large "CRACK" come from the branch we were hanging on. But we did survive so you'll have to check back soon for some more great views of the Tetons!
